Arcade Fire's The Suburbs: Album of the Year

I feel so uncharacteristically cool! Arcade Fire won Album of the Year last night at the Grammy Awards in what the media called an "upset". Who says?

I have been listening to Arcade Fire for several years, yet it appears they haven't made it to the playlists of the Grammy-watching mainstream audience. It is a good record. I blogged about it briefly in August 2010 in Sunday Reflections: The Suburbs and in December at 2010: The Year of Poutrage. I first heard Arcade Fire in 2005 when the HBO's outstanding series, Six Feet Under, used their song, Cold Wind. That single and the album, Funeral, were nominated for Grammys at that time.

If you are behind the Grammy audience, go to iTunes now and check out them out.
