The Help: The Movie

Fans of Kathryn Stockett's book, The Help, will be happy to know that filming of the movie will start this summer in Mississippi. Summer in Mississippi? That should be fun for the crew.

The site will be Greenwood, although the majority of the book takes place in Jackson in the 1960's. Greenwood is in the Delta region of Mississippi and is best known for its blues clubs and Mississippi's only five-star hotel. Some scenes will be shot in and around Jackson and in north Mississippi.

The producer, Brunson Green, and screenwriter, Tate Taylor, are originally from Mississippi. Casting includes Emma Stone and Viola Davis.
