Once again, Birmingham has lost an excellent radio station. On February 14, 2010, the adult album alternative radio station Live 100.5 (WWMM-FM) went off the air, taking Scott Register of Reg's Coffeehouse with it. Even when I lived in Nashville, I checked Reg's playlists for recommendations on new bands and music; if Reg liked it then most likely I would like it too. He has been resurrected for us in the past and, hopefully, he will again.
Corporate America, this time in the form of Citadel Broadcasting, will change Live 100.5 to a talk radio format. Information on petitions, boycotts, voicing support, etc., may be found on

I am sorry to hear that one of your local stations has switched formats. More and more it's becoming rare to hear a show like Reg's Coffeehouse on terrestrial radio. Even though I've never heard Live 100.5, I signed the petition because it's important to support innovative radio.
By the way, I love the "Animal House" quote.
Malcolm - Thank you for your support. Certainly, there are so many ways to hear music these days; I enjoyed my few hours with Reg. Even worse is that there is one more talk radio station out there to misinform the masses.
