Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has been named the 2009 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Region II Coach of the Year.
Region II is comprised of the 12 teams from the Southeastern Conference and nine teams from the Sun Belt Conference in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
Saban has guided Alabama to back-to-back 12-0 regular seasons and two straight appearances in the SEC Championship Game.  No. 2 Alabama plays No. 1 Florida this Saturday, Dec. 5, for the SEC Championship at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.  The game will be nationally televised by CBS Sports with a 3 p.m. (CT) kickoff.

Good luck to your team in the game! I've lost interest in college football this year--I'm an Illini fan, and we've had a very disappointing season. But it's basketball season now, my favorite, and things are looking up with a great win over Clemson the other night.

Thanks for visiting my blog recently; your Smudge looks so much like our Toby, they could be brothers!

Rose - Thanks! Good luck to the Illini basketball team.

Actually, Smudge is a cat of a blogger friend. Isn't he gorgeous so Toby must be as well.

Have a good weekend!
