Congratulations Mark Ingram!



AP photo - It would be hard to miss the news but UA running back, Mark Ingram, won the Heisman trophy last night in New York. This is Alabama's first Heisman trophy winner, despite its illustrious football program. UA has been known to claim they win national championships, not Heisman trophies. Now, we can say we do both. Alabama fans are proud for Mark, his family, his teammates, and the University of Alabama.

I had company so I didn't get to see the Heisman Trophy ceremony live; I did watch Mark's speech later and included the video of it in a post at Pop Culture Dish. I too was surprised that an Alabama player had never won The Heisman.

Malcolm - That's great! I was so touched by his speech, weren't you? I understand it was Mark Ingram Day in Flint on Saturday so there were several reasons for their town, and ours, to celebrate. I'm sure Flint needs a a reason to celebrate.
