Chicago Bears quarterback via the Denver Broncos via the SEC's Vanderbilt threw a temper tantrum last week and was fined $20,000 by the NFL for abusive conduct toward a game official during the Bears embarrassing loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Frustration or uncontrolled blood sugars? Cutler's teammate, Tommie Harris, struck an opponent. Considering how they played, I'd say frustration.
The Tennessee Titans meet the Buffalo Bills today at LP Field. After a rocky start, they have finally started winning again and QB Vince Young is getting a lot of the credit, yet rookie Chris Johnson and Samford's Cortland Finnegan have helped make those wins possible. Cortland Finnegan. Isn't that a great name? I love that he attended Birmingham's Samford University.
I am always interested in the Titans v Bills game. I had the opportunity to witness the "The Music City Miracle" in 2000. This play was named the #3 most controversial call in the NFL. Let's take a look, shall we?
How cool was that? This play reiterated my mantra that the game isn't over until the last play.
Lastly, the Mississippi State Bulldogs showed up last night with nothing more than excitement and noise, as Bama silenced them 31-3. Rammer Jammer. Saturday was considered an Alabama fan's perfect day: Bama wins, Auburn loses, Tennessee loses.
Roll Tide!
Next Saturday: UA v UT-Chattanooga
Friday, November 27: The Iron Bowl in Auburn, 1:30 CBS
(Auburn gets a week off to prepare, while Bama plays a game five days prior to the Iron Bowl. Somebody talk to Nick.)
