Great post, Judy! I wholeheartedly agree with you. My family and I always participated in demonstrations against the armsrace. I was a member of several peace movements. I am a great admirer of Jesus, Buddha and Gandhi. Three of a kind. Though some followers of Jesus never understood him and were aggressive and disrespectful against other religions.
Wil - Thank you. I had been looking forward to participating in BlogBlast for Peace this year. Here in the USA, the tragedy at Fort Hood, Texas happened on that day, a reminder of the residual effects of violence and war. As Mimi Lennox, the host of BlogBlast for Peace, wrote later, "And still we blog peace".
Good point about Jesus.
Thanks for your comments.
That last quote is particularly significant in these times, when some would use fear as a means to maintain their tenuous hold on power.
Peace to you and yours.
Travis - I agree. Thank you for your comment.
