Breaking News: Health Care Reform Vote

The Senate and public have been anxiously awaiting the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) tabulations on the cost of the health care bill.  They have now determined the health care bill will cost $849 billion and cover 94 % of Americans. The Senate bill reduces the deficit by $127 billion over 10 years. The bill will include a public option, but states can opt-out. Thirty-one million more Americans will be covered if the bill passes. As of tonight, the Senate is expected to vote on Saturday, November 21.

The next Free Health Care Clinic will be in Little Rock, Arkansas this weekend.  Last weekend in New Orleans, the Free Clinic served greater than 1000 people. These are not only poor people; these are working people who may not be allowed to work enough hours to qualify for health insurance benefits or who may have lost their insurance. To locate or volunteer at an upcoming clinic, go to the National Association of Free Clinics. These are not partisan clinics.

It is time to move forward for a better country.
To quote REM: It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.  Turn off the television and relax.

After 70-plus years, bill may become a law on Saturday (sorry, it is still the best for this post):

Q - I'm glad you enjoyed it! Obviously Schoolhouse Rock was a big success in educating that generation, as people still refer to these often.
