Sophistication in the White House

My NYC friend and art collector notified me of an article in the New York Times entitled, A Bold and Modern White House by Carol Vogel.  He wrote: "(an) utterly sophisticated, broad collection they've chosen. How magnificent of our first couple!!"  The White House released a list of 45 artworks that are on loan to the Obamas from several Washington museums. It is a big, broad selection, mostly modern and contemporary paintings and sculptures. Shown here, "I think I'll ... " by the California artist Ed Ruscha. It deals with the subject of indecision (a subject I know a little about, Libra that I am).  See the slideshow of some of the works chosen for loan to the White House.

Reminder: Visit your local art museums and support the local arts and artists in your area!
