On 09-09-09: It's The Beatles!

The Beatles Box Set (as seen at NPR's All Songs Considered)

I heard the news today, oh boy!  As heard on NPR's All Songs Considered today, Apple and EMI are scheduled to release remastered copies of The Beatles' entire catalog of music, from 1963's Please Please Me to 1969's Abbey Road, tomorrow.  The remastered versions will offer music clarity unheard on previous recordings, as well as expanded liner notes, new artwork, never-before-seen photos, and short documentaries on the making of each album.  EMI is releasing both the original mono versions of the first 10 Beatles albums, up through The Beatles (The White Album), in addition to the all-stereo versions.

If the music of The Beatles gets any better, I may not be able to stand it!  This will definitely go on my "lust list", but at a retail price of $299 I might lust for awhile.

Also, on 09-09-09, an entirely new generation will be introduced to The Beatles via The Beatles: Rock Band.  Here is the Cinematic Trailer - Animated Promo.  Amazing! We love you Beatles.  Oh. Yes. We. Do.

There seems to be a certain synchronicity to the introduction of The Beatles to a new generation in a new medium at this time in the world. The Beatles, so full of youthful optimism and hope, with songs for dancing, for falling in love, and for changing the world!
